Consider what stress is. The mental and physical impact stress can have on a person. How it makes people feel and the science behind stress.

Identifying Stress
Raising awareness of differences between colleagues, and how it can impact on the organisation. The amount of pressure that people can cope with varies from person to person, so it’s important to pay attention to how people are feeling and behaving. People can change from one day to the next, or even from moment to moment for some people. Hormones, health, and a range of internal and external factors can influence whether pressure turns into stress or not.

Managing, Reducing and Preventing Stress
Ensuring employers legal obligations are in place for managing and reducing stress in the workplace. Identifying suitable systems, enabling consultation and supportive action to assess the risk of stress. Highlighting the importance of an action plan and monitoring of measures to prevent and reduce stress.
